Easy Ways to Decorate This Holiday Season
The holiday season is upon us! With parties, shopping, cooking, entertaining, and travel, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. Topping it off with decorating can sometimes seem like just another chore. But what if I told you that you can still bring the festive vibe into your home without investing too much time or effort? With my eldest graduating from college amidst all the holiday chaos, I’ve learned to prioritize simplicity and impact when it comes to decorating our space. Here are a few simple yet easy holiday decorations that you can use to deck the halls (and rooms) of your home.
Indoor Wreaths are a Delight
Why restrict wreaths to your front door? Hang one inside where you can enjoy its beauty every day. I’ve placed one in my kitchen, and every time I walk in – which is quite frequently – it brings a smile to my face. A personal touch can be added by using different ribbons and even a decorative tassel at the bottom, just like the one I’ve hung on my antique armoire.
Ornaments Aren’t Just for Trees
Have a cool vase or glass bowl lying around? Fill it with festive ornaments. The trick is to choose colors that tie everything together. My personal favorites this year are silver, gold, black, and a splash of dark green to add that pop of color.
Give Your Vase a Festive Twist
Vases are versatile. I’ve taken my year-round glass vase and wrapped it in vibrant wallpaper. You can do the same with wrapping paper. The beauty of this? It’s temporary! Use double-sided tape for an easy application and removal after the season.
Remember, the holidays are a time for joy, and decorating should enhance that joy, not become a source of stress. By adopting some of these easy tips, you can effortlessly bring the festive spirit into your home and create a welcoming environment for all who enter. Enjoy the season and happy decorating!
