Hey, everyone! As your go-to Closing Coach for Interior Designers, I’m excited to bring insights that will keep your business thriving, even during the holidays. Today, let’s talk about the holiday slippery slope and why it’s crucial to keep your foot on the gas in your interior design business this season.
Why I’m Called the Closing Coach
You might wonder how I got the title “Closing Coach.” Well, aside from coaching, I’m actively involved in interior design, and closing five-figure design fees is something I consistently achieve. Just recently, within a month and less than five days, I closed another considerable deal. When I shared this success with a friend, she highlighted how extraordinary it was, which made me realize the significance of what I do. It also inspired me to share my strategies with designers like you. If you’re curious about my process, I encourage you to listen to episode 80 of my podcast where I delve into the details of client qualification and closing.
Also, this realization led me to establish the Luxury Client Academy. Through this nine-month coaching program, I help designers like you close clients swiftly and dramatically increase your profits. Interested? Find more details in the show notes on how to apply and connect with me.
The Holiday Rush and Its Impact
The holiday season is a double-edged sword. It’s a time for joy but also a source of stress with school events, holiday parties, and extensive food preparations. I remember spending hours over Thanksgiving just cleaning up! On top of that, everyone wants their spaces spruced up before year’s end. Amidst all this, it’s easy to neglect your sales and marketing efforts.
This time of year, many think, “It’s the holidays. I’ll focus on the business in the new year.” It’s a common notion, thinking that business can wait until after the festivities, especially because it seems like no one else is working. But this oversight can lead to significant downtimes in business flow.
The Importance of Staying Active
Contrary to popular belief, now is the time to accelerate your efforts, not slow them down. The holiday season presents a unique opportunity to make valuable connections. People are generally in good spirits and more receptive. They might even be easing up on their personal workloads, freeing up time to connect.
Building relationships takes time—often three to six months—before new contacts start benefiting you. Trust is a pivotal component, as you wouldn’t want to recommend anyone to your clients unless they truly uphold your standards. Thus, starting these connections now, rather than waiting until the new year, optimally positions you for success. If you hold off until January, your window for securing opportunities shifts from three to six months to potentially up to seven months.
In these closing months of the year, keep your eyes on the prize. Don’t lose momentum. The groundwork you lay now will reward you immensely as you step into the new year. Keep reaching out, maintain momentum, and make the most of this festive season to bolster your business connections and opportunities. Remember, the longer you wait, the longer the ramp-up period.
